Manipur, meaning "dry land," is a still-isolated state in northeast India near Burma. It is known for the rugged beauty of its landscapes.
The women of Manipur have been passing down the traditional art of hand-weaving cotton cloth for generations. Each tribe and village has its own unique patterns and colors.

Revisited by our designers, the Manipur cushion collection was born from a close collaboration between Mille Et Claire and its expert weavers from Manipur. These cushions are woven entirely by hand, on antique looms; each piece is unique, perpetuating an ancestral tradition.

The soft 100% merino wool yarns bring out the brilliance of the colors. The graphic lines are inspired by the motifs of the "Meiteis" or "Manipuri" tribes of Northeast India who inhabit the valleys.
